This programmable dc power supply and regenerative battery tester features energy recovery with up to 96% efficiency, significantly reducing waste heat and lowering air conditioning costs. Housed in a 3U form factor, it delivers 0-1000V output voltage per channel and 0-40A per channel (up to 120A total when channels are paralleled), with a total power of up to 30kW in autoranging mode, ensuring flexible output levels across a wide range of battery cell, module, and pack tests. The device offers high precision with 18-bit digital control, fast transitions between CV, CC, CP, and CR modes, and selectable control speeds (Normal, Fast, Slow) to maximize throughput. With 1 ms communication speed via built-in interfaces including Gbit Ethernet, EtherCAT, CAN FD, and ProfiNet, it supports automated test sequences through EA Power Control software and EA Battery Simulator, or direct PLC control using SCPI or ModBus commands.
