Product Description
EA-PSB 10360-40 3U 5kW Programmable Bidirectional DC Power Supply
The EA-PSB 10360-40 3U is a compact, high-performance programmable bidirectional DC power supply from the PSB 10000 3U series, integrating the functions of a laboratory DC power supply and a regenerative electronic load into a single 3U chassis. As a true dc power supply and sink, it seamlessly switches between source and sink modes with energy recovery up to 95.5% efficiency, making it ideal for battery testing, photovoltaic simulation, fuel cell emulation, and computer power supply testing. This bench power supply delivers 0‑360 V and 0‑40 A with a maximum power of 5 kW (derated to 3 kW when operated on 208 V AC input). It features excellent regulation: ≤0.05% FS for voltage (constant voltage mode), ≤0.1% FS for current (constant current mode), ≤0.3% FS for power (constant power mode), and ≤0.3% FS + 0.1% for resistance (constant resistance mode). Output ripple is exceptionally low at ≤55 mV rms and ≤320 mV pp. The built-in arbitrary function generator supports sine, triangle, rectangle, trapezoidal, DIN 40839, EN 50530 PV simulation, fuel cell (FC) table, battery charge/discharge profiles, and MPP tracking functions. Connectivity includes USB, Ethernet, and a galvanically isolated analog interface (0‑5 V/0‑10 V), plus optional fieldbus modules (Profibus, ProfiNet, ModBus TCP, CANopen, EtherCAT, RS232). Master‑slave parallel operation allows up to 64 units for a total system power up to 960 kW. Comprehensive protections (adjustable OVP, OCP, OPP, overtemperature) and user‑definable events ensure safe, reliable operation in R&D, industrial, and educational environments.
Key Features
- Bidirectional Operation with Energy Recovery: Combines programmable DC power supply and electronic DC load in one 3U unit; seamless zero-crossing switching between source and sink; up to 95.5% efficiency reduces energy costs and cooling requirements.
- High Precision & Low Ripple: 0‑360 V / 0‑40 A output, 5 kW rated power (derated to 3 kW at 208 V AC); ≤0.05% FS voltage regulation, ≤0.1% FS current regulation; low ripple ≤55 mV rms / ≤320 mV pp ensures clean power for sensitive loads.
- Multi-Mode Operation: Supports constant voltage (CV), constant current (CC), constant power (CP), and constant resistance (CR) modes; internal resistance simulation in source mode.
- Versatile Function Generator: Built‑in arbitrary, sine, triangle, rectangle, trapezoidal, DIN 40839, EN 50530 PV simulation, fuel cell (FC) table, battery test, and MPP tracking functions for comprehensive testing of renewables and storage devices.
- Extensive Connectivity: Standard USB (rear for remote control, front for data logging), Ethernet, and galvanically isolated analog interface (0‑5 V/0‑10 V). Optional plug‑in modules for Profibus, ProfiNet, ModBus TCP, CANopen, EtherCAT, RS232 enable flexible integration into industrial networks.
- Master‑Slave Parallel Operation: Connect up to 64 units via Share BUS and digital master‑slave bus for total system power up to 960 kW; true current sharing and summed actual values displayed on master.
- Comprehensive Protection & Monitoring: Adjustable OVP, OCP, OPP (0‑110% of nominal), overtemperature protection, and power fail alarm; user‑configurable events (UVD, OVD, UCD, OCD, OPD) with alarm, warning, or signal actions.
- Intuitive Touchscreen Control: 5" color TFT touchscreen with two rotary knobs for easy manual operation; graphical display of actual values, status, and trends; USB host for data logging and sequence loading.
