EA-PSB 10060-170 3U 5000W Programmable Bidirectional DC Power Supply
The EA-PSB 10060-170 3U is a high-performance, programmable bidirectional DC power supply that integrates the functions of a laboratory power supply (source) and a regenerative electronic load (sink) into a single 3U 19" rack-mount unit. As a key component of the PSB 10000 3U series, this 60V model delivers a DC output range of 0-60V and a DC current range of 0-170A, achieving a total power of 5000W. When operating on a 208V AC supply, the device automatically derates to 3000W. It boasts an efficiency of up to 94.5%, significantly reducing energy loss, especially in sink mode where it recovers energy and feeds it back into the grid. The device features seamless switching between source and sink modes, making it an ideal solution for applications requiring both a DC power source and a DC power sink, such as battery testing, charger/discharge testing, and simulating photovoltaic panels or fuel cells. The built-in function generator supports sine, triangle, rectangle, arbitrary waveforms, and PV/FC simulations, with a user-defined arbitrary generator of up to 99 points. Remote control is facilitated via standard built-in USB and Ethernet ports, a galvanically isolated analog interface (0-5V or 0-10V switchable), and an optional slot for plug-in modules (RS232, CAN, CANopen, Profibus, Profinet, EtherCAT, ModBus TCP). The device offers high precision with display accuracy of ≤0.05% for voltage and ≤0.1% for current, and features low ripple of ≤10 mV (rms) and ≤100 mV (pp). For scalability, up to 64 units can be connected in a master-slave parallel configuration to create high-power systems up to 960kW, with true totaling of actual values. Safety features include overvoltage (OVP), overcurrent (OCP), overpower (OPP), and overtemperature (OT) protection.
