EA-ELR 10500-30 3U Programmable Electronic DC Load with Energy Recovery

Developed by EA Elektro-Automatik, the EA-ELR 10500-30 3U is an industrial 3U heavy-duty programmable DC load (part of ELR 10000 series) with energy recovery. It acts as a variable current sink for precise voltage/current source loading, fitting the definition of programmable DC power supplies.

This 19” rack-mountable (3U) device covers 0-500V DC input, 0-30A DC input, and 5000W max power (3000W derated in AC-dependent modes). With ≤95.5% efficiency, it inverts consumed DC energy to feed back to the grid, cutting energy waste and costs.

It supports 4 core operating modes (CV/CC/CP/CR) for flexible testing, plus low ripple and high stability: load regulation ≤0.05% FS (CV), ≤0.1% FS (CC), ≤0.3% FS (CP/CR); long-term stability ≤0.02% FS (8h operation after 30min warm-up).

Galvanically isolated interfaces (USB, 100 MBit Ethernet, 15-pole D-sub analog) avoid signal interference. The analog interface switches 0-5V/0-10V for set/actual values, and optional modules (CANopen/RS232/Profibus) expand industrial bus compatibility.

Safety features include adjustable OVP/OCP/OPP (0-110% nominal), overtemperature shutdown, and a panel lock (optional PIN) to prevent unauthorized adjustments, ensuring parameter integrity.

Designed for harsh environments: 0-50°C operating temp, ≤2000m altitude, forced front-to-rear air cooling. Typical applications: battery testing (integrated function), solar module testing (MPP tracking), industrial component validation.
